Greetings & Happy Australia Day!

As I write this WebNews the rain continues to tumble down making this weekend’s cricket rather doubtful at this point in time. Gill Park was totally under water this morning and none of the junior fields have been able to be mown this week. I was fortunate enough to get the main field mown yesterday that may assist in the drying out process. However, at this stage nothing has been called off and you should listen to the radio (ABC 630AM & 4TO 1023FM) on Saturday morning for any cancellations. Please do not ring the radio stations, just listen from about 6:00am. If you do not hear of any cancellations then just turn up at your designated match.

An important cricketing event is coming to Townsville on the 11th March in the form of a Legend’s match that will include past cricketers such as Ian Healy, Mark Taylor, Len Pascoe, Graeme Wood and many more past players. There will be further news on this event coming out soon but we do know that senior fixtures will not be played on that weekend to allow for more spectators. We’ll keep you posted.

Our website passed the 30,000th visitor milestone yesterday which is quite remarkable for a club of our size.

A set of keys have been handed in at the clubhouse, it appears it has a car/bike key, possibly a house key & a padlock key. If you have lost them, ask at the canteen.

The new machinery shed will soon be erected (4 – 5 weeks) and we are looking for a plumber within the club to assist us in the planning, if you can help out, please contact us at info@wandererscricket.com

The senior draw has once again changed due to the Legend’s match in March, you can now access the senior draws on our website. I’m currently working on getting the junior draws up on the website as well.

Senior Fees are still very slow in coming in, please make the effort and pay your fees now!

Depending on the weather, HAVAGO will recommence again tomorrow (Friday) night at 6:00.

The next club meeting is scheduled for Monday February 27th at 7:00PM.

That’s about all for this WebNews, enjoy yourselves & take it easy!
