Wanderers Cricket Club
Greetings one & all,

Its been a while since our last WebNews but there has still been a bit happening at Wanderers during the off-season.

The machinery shed has now been erected and we have the keys. There is still some work to be carried out on / in the shed such as the electrical, security & work benches / shelving. This should be done over the next few weeks & we’ll be calling a working bee shortly to start moving everything into the shed from the hired container & the clubhouse.

A major junior coaching clinic for boys & girls, 11 years & older is being conducted by North Qld Junior Cricket in association with Qld Cricket. This is a live-in clinic at Charters Towers on July 8th & 9th with everyone staying at Columbia Catholic College. The cost of this clinic including meals & accommodation is just $65.00 per child and we urge all eligible junior players to attend (must have been a registered player in the season just finished). Anyone wanting an enrolment form, please reply to this email requesting such.

As many of you would know, Damien & Michelle Goad are leaving Townsville soon to take up residence in W.A. Before they leave though, they have invited everyone from Wanderers to join them in a farewell get together. Details are below.

There will be BBQ’s provided, but please bring your own meat, drinks and chairs. If it is raining it will still be at the cricket club as it has an indoor area.

Just a reminder that our Monthly Club meeting is on this coming Monday (29th May)evening at 7:00pm. We’d love to see you there.

The raffles at the Centenary Hotel continue on Friday afternoons 4:30 & Sunday lunch time 12:30. Honestly all, we could do with some assistance at these raffles, they are not over demanding but some help is required. We cannot continue to rely on the same old workers week in & week out. The Centenary Hotel is our major sponsor and even if you turn up & have a couple of drinks it is showing our sponsor that we are supporting them. So, please, make an effort & come along.
