Hello out there to the Wanderers’ family and welcome to an off-season edition of Wanderers’ WebNews.
Firstly, I must sincerely thank all those who attended the recent working-bee, it was in the main, very successful, although we did strike a snag with the wicket soil being damp that hampered our progress as the damp soil clogs up the crusher. It should be pointed out that the majority of workers were junior parents & players and I hope that the next working-bee will be better supported by senior members. To those that did attend, our sincere thanks & appreciation of a job well done.
TWENTY / 20 WINTER CRICKET for juniors is on the horizon and is currently in the planning stages. Junior coaches from last season will soon be contacting their players to see if they are interested. The word is that it will commence late July and run through to early September. Those that wish to play can send an email to info@wandererscricket.com telling us your name, age & contact number. As the time gets closer, we’ll be in contact with you.
A lot of people have been asking about the health of Life-Member Fred Jacobson and it gives me pleasure to advise that Fred has improve rather markedly from his bout of serious illness over Easter. He has bounced back to his cheeky self and has just spent the past two weeks in Kurumba fishing.
I will also, once again, reiterate that we need assistance on Sundays at the Centenary Hotel in the selling of raffle tickets. Please, it is a great income earner for Wanderers and we would hate to lose this source of income and possibly the sponsorship. Please, come along from 12:30 and give us an hour of your time.
Next Club meeting is Monday 26th May, come along & give us your thoughts.
That’s about all for now, don’t forget the Junior Winter Cricket and ensure you nominate.
Cheers for now & take it easy.
